Getting Through the Going Through
Getting Through the Going Through
Only dust under great pressure
can become diamonds.
The human pressures make
our dust into diamonds—
Diamonds hardened and annealed
in the hot bowels of
love and anger, hurt and disbelief,
joy and pain, and losses
that seem too great to endure—
Only to come out from under
untold pressures to emerge,
sparkling diamonds—
humans who cried, survived,
loved, endured,
caretakers who triumph,
able to use our diamonds
to cut through the pain of loss
and inevitable change.
